Der Big Brother Award wurde heuer im Jahr 2008 bereits zum 10. Mal an jene Personen, Institutionen, Behörden und Firmen vergeben, die sich im Feld der Überwachung, Kontrolle und Bevormundung ganz besonders verdient gemacht haben. Die Gewinner im negativen Sinn bekamen wie jedes Jahr einen (Negativ)Preis und einen Platz in der Hall of Shame - gleich wie ihre Vorgänger aus den letzten neun Jahren.
